Recently, the weather is cold and the temperature is very low. I often encounter customer inquiries: Does the film need to be warmed?
Our answer to this question is: film can not be heated by rubber roller heating!
But why?
As we all know, when using traditional cold laminating film, the PVC film is relatively thick, the hardness of the PVC film is sensitive to temperature, and the viscosity of the oily pressure sensitive adhesive is also sensitive to temperature. When the temperature is low, the PVC film will become very hard and not soft, and the film will cause many problems. Therefore, it is necessary to open the heating function to heat the roller to about 50 degrees. The PVC film becomes softer, and the viscosity of the oil-based pressure-sensitive adhesive is also improved, so that a good film coating effect can be obtained.
However, for the baseless film, the situation is quite different.
The thickness of the baseless film is very thin, usually only about 3 μm, and the peeling force of the baseless film is relatively large, reaching 200G or more. Unlike the conventional cold laminating film, the peeling force is only about 15G. Therefore, the heating function will cause the baseless film become soften, and the peeling force of the film is not reduced but increased, because of the low temperature of the film. As the result, the film is stretched and deformed, which will cause the poor laminating works.
In fact, since the baseless film itself is very thin, very soft, and is made of a water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive, so the film does not need to be heated under normal low-temperature weather.
In fact, through a lot of tests and actual use by customers, we also found that heating with a rubber roller to warm the baseless film will bring a lot of problems. Even if the temperature is very low, there is no obvious change in the baseless film without heating.

If necessary, we can increase the working room temperature.
